How it all started...

The idea was always to create a local and friendly web design agency based in the South after graduating from Portsmouth University.

It all started in December 2006 when Tidy Design Ltd was formed by Michael Jon Ward and Simon Kincaid. 18 months after the incorporation Michael Jon Ward decided to go it alone trading as Tidy Design Portsmouth (New website launched April 2008).

This move was put in place to free up Mikes time to focus on local clients, new business ideas and ventures he wished to pursue.

Tidy Design .com was later sold (October 2009) to MJWARD UK LTD T/A Tidy Design Portsmouth which resulted in the Tidy brand / website being immediately re-launched! The portfolio page of this website showcases recent sites we have designed / developed.

In October 2008, after graduating in Law and Criminology, Mike’s partner Rosie van Walt became a full time member of Tidy Design Portsmouth looking after the company’s admin, accounts, marketing and SEO packages. Most importantly Rosie has helped Mike to reduce his workload by sharing the responsibility of client dealings.

In early January 2009, Alan Hollis joined the team when Mike sold our first commission free booking engine. Alan built the bespoke system / database, and since then he has become a fixture in our business. Mike and Alan have since developed a booking engine for a hotel in Cornwall and liaised with other hotels as far as Italy, Thailand and Delhi!

The youngest member of our team was Tom Arnfeld who joined us in August 2009 and regretably moved on to a bigger company in June 2010. He may have been the youngest out of all of us, however at times we think he is the cleverest. Tom helped us with the development of several websites, blogs and bespoke databases. A very clever young man, we have high hopes for Tom and will keep in touch.

In March 2010 we employed Jason Wilson to help us with several website marketing campaigns, Jason is a highly motivated individual and we are very lucky to have him working for Tidy Design. We see Jason as part of the family and hope he will one day be employed full-time by us as the manager of our Portsmouth branch.

Our plans for the future...

Tidy Design is fortunate to have some very amazing and loyal clients.

Our plan for the future is to expand our services and company across the UK and retain a personal tidy touch! Although we already have clients as far a field as New Zealand Tidy Design is focusing a lot of time and energy into becoming a recognisable brand in the South Coast of England and London.

Our aim is to offer affordable web design, hosting and marketing to companies of all sizes, you will see from our ever expanding portfolio that we do not stick to one certain type of sites / style / businesses… We love being creative and feel this is visible in the websites we design.

What makes Tidy Design different is that we combine the programming knowledge with both natural creativity and business. We are more than just web designers! We are Tidy Web Designers!

In August 2010 we setup a tidy blog to significantly increase the amount of content and number of pages on our site. Leading up to 2011 we will be developing and expanding our news blog almost daily so please stay tuned for lots of news, reviews and tutorials!
