After an amazing 2009 Tidy Design wipes the slate clean for yet another year of hard work, self development and good business! Can I take this opportunity to say thank you to all our customers!
Snow, Snow and More Snow!
With businesses and families battling against treacherous conditions after sub-zero temperatures hit the UK we are aware that some companies will be hit hard this January!
Fighting the urge to build snowmen Tidy Design got straight to work and launched our first site of 2010 last week! A minimal but massive brochure site that uses advanced coding to impress its users! This 200+ page website was built using CSS (not tables) and comes with its very own search facility.
2010 Business Resolution
This year we will work much closer with all our existing clients! As a company we are still growing, expanding and learning new things every day! 2010 Predictions
Welcome Google Caffeine
Google Caffeine is the first major Search Engine application change by Google since 2006. Several of their "hush hush" changes have already been implemented which have effected search results, search speed, and various site rankings! Ok, no one except Google knows exactly when Caffeine will fully launch, we are however keeping our tidy design fingers on the pulse!
Watch Our Loading Speed
Much has been said about the speed of loading pages and SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages), does the speed of a page loading influence the results? Well we say yes! This is because Google could simply ignore parts of your web page that take too long to load!
The Influence Of Social Media
No one has been 100% sure about the direct or indirect influence of social media and search results... But, the fact is that an influence does exists! Social media sites such as Twitter and You Tube will greatly influence the amount of traffic/visitors you receive, therefore boost overall results in 2010.
The Mobile Web
Cracking mobile searches should be at the top of many companies’ lists. Overall, we believe mobile search will develop in 2010 to be a major new search engine within itself. Because of the innovations from mobile devices like iPhone, Blackberry and Google Android we believe you will see search engines evolving specifically for mobile devices and mobile websites.
Google’s Online Supremacy
‘Google and other net firms could be taxed under plans being considered by the French government. A report, commissioned by the government, suggests firms such as Google, Yahoo and Facebook should pay a new tax on their online ad revenues. The money could be used to fund legal alternatives for buying books, films and music on the internet.
France has also gone head-to-head with Google over its plans to digitise the world's books, with a project to set up its own digital library. Critics fear it is creating a monopoly over information, and are unhappy at the firm digitising titles against the wishes of many authors and publishers.’
Has Google’s supremacy of the World Wide Web exceeded their boundaries? Or are they just developing innovative ideas to grow with the modern world’s desire for technology and information.

What Was So Great About 2009?
In 2009 we launched www.hotelbookingreservationsystem.com which now provides a bespoke, commission free online reservations solution for hotels of any size!
Rosie and I got engaged! The same day Rosie travelled to New Zealand for three weeks! Was it something I said!
Not long after, we received a CV from Tom who soon became a new member of our team! He has since designed several bespoke programmes which include a course calculator for Portsmouth and Southampton Language College, waterbed conditioner reminders system, online English level test with email results system, and a DIY tool kit for landlords (more info below)
Freedom4Landlords.co.uk, what a site! Last year we launched a bespoke property portal which links to sites such as Right Move and Prime Location allowing landlords to register, purchase services, market properties following 5 easy steps, recommend a friend, download specialist documents and more… This was a tricky site to build however it is now up and running so please take a look!
October 2009, we re-branded the company! Have you visited our new Tidy Design Website? New features include a unique website calculator that allows users to price up their own project online before proceeding to check out… Online job specification form that sends the user and us an automated project requirements document… A bigger and better portfolio showcasing even more of our work!
Finally...
As well as focusing on new business and keeping costs down for all in 2010 we also aim to create an array of new bespoke web marketing tools for all to use! These features will be developed over the forth coming months so please stay tuned!
