Our work with Kidney Research UK was pretty intense over a 2-3 year period, we helped this awesome charity develop GFR (Glomerular Filtration Rate) software which is now being used by 20+ NHS Trusts across the UK. Our role in this project was to develop, support, maintain, update and modernise ASSIST-CKD.
ASSIST-CKD is a fundamental tool to help with the research and treatment of kidney disease, managed by Kidney Research UK and supported by The Health Foundation. The aim is to identify patients across the UK at highest risk of CKD progression – a simple concept which not only offers value for money but also a real chance to improve renal patient journeys.
As well as developing bespoke software for this charity we designed an ASSIST-CKD logo, created branded report templates, participated in software training days, attended and spoke at national NHS conferences. As mentioned above it was a busy 2-3 years, one of our biggest challenges being the adoption of ASSIST-CKD within different NHS trust. Each trust was set up slightly differently, be it network configuration or LIMS, we had to support both IT departments and laboratories across the UK!
